What are the admission requirements?

Learn what is required to apply to Queens College of Theology and how applicants are evaluated for acceptance into undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.

Overview

Queens College of Theology (QCT) welcomes students who feel called to Christian service and who demonstrate the academic ability, moral character, and spiritual maturity necessary for theological study.

Admission is open to individuals from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to biblical truth and ministry preparation.

The college offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, each with distinct admission requirements.

General Admission Standards

All applicants must:

  • Submit a completed Application for Admission.

  • Provide transcripts from all previously attended institutions (high school, college, or seminary, as applicable).

  • Meet the minimum GPA requirement for their level of study.

  • Demonstrate the ability to engage in academic study at the theological level requested.

QCT’s admissions process is holistic, considering academic history, spiritual readiness, and ministry goals rather than standardized test scores.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

To be admitted into a Bachelor-level program, applicants must:

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or recognized homeschool completion).

  • Submit transcripts from high school or any postsecondary institutions attended.

Graduate Admission Requirements

To be admitted into a Master’s-level program, applicants must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an approved institution.

  • Submit transcripts verifying completion of their undergraduate program.

Life Experience Admissions

QCT recognizes that some applicants have gained significant theological and ministerial experience outside traditional academia.

Applicants may receive consideration for such experience through evaluation by the Admissions Committee.

As stated in the catalog:

“Life experience admission is available for those who have not completed a bachelor’s degree but who have extensive ministry leadership experience equivalent to undergraduate learning.”

Students with a minimum of 7 years of ministry leadership experience that can be confirmed through career history and letters of recommendations will be eligible for admission.

Doctoral Admission Requirements

To be admitted into a Doctoral program, applicants must:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in theology, divinity, ministry, or a closely related field from an approved institution.

  • Submit graduate transcripts

QCT may also consider applicants with substantial ministry experience through life experience admission review, requiring a minimum of 12 years of ministry leadership experience that can be confirmed through career history and letters of recommendation.

Evaluation Process

Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee, which evaluates each applicant’s:

  • Academic qualifications and transcripts.

  • Evidence of ministry experience or calling.

  • Alignment with QCT’s mission and doctrinal values.

  • Available seat options for the program

Applicants are notified of admission decisions via email. Those accepted will receive additional information about registration, tuition, and program activation.

International Applicants

Queens College of Theology welcomes international students.
Applicants from outside the United States must:

  • Provide English translations of all academic transcripts.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in English (through writing samples or conversation).

  • Be aware that QCT does not issue student visas and operates as an online and distance learning institution under U.S. law.

Why This Process Matters

QCT’s admissions process ensures that every student who enrolls is both academically prepared and spiritually called.

By balancing academic standards with ministerial discernment, QCT maintains a learning community rooted in faith, scholarship, and service.
