Is Queens College of Theology accredited?
Understand QCT’s recognition, authorization, and accreditation.
Overview
Queens College of Theology (QCT) is an independent, faith-based institution authorized to grant degrees in religious education.
While QCT is not accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the college operates legally under North Carolina religious exemption laws and maintains partnerships that ensure the integrity of its programs and credentials.
Our approach to accreditation reflects a deliberate choice to preserve biblical fidelity, academic independence, and ministry-focused education free from governmental influence.
Authorization
According to the University of North Carolina Board of Governors:
“Degree programs of study offered by Queens College of Theology have been declared by the appropriate state authority exempt from the requirements for licensure, under provisions of North Carolina Statutes Section (G.S.) 116-15 (d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education.”
This exemption confirms that QCT may grant religious degrees in ministry, theology, and related Christian disciplines.
