How many credits can I transfer to QCT?
Your degree program determines the maximum number of credits you may transfer. The maximum is a limit, not a guarantee that QCT will approve that many credits.
Transfer limits by degree
| Degree program | Total program credits | Maximum transfer credits |
|---|---|---|
| Bachelor of Theology | 120 | 60 |
| Master of Arts in Christian Counseling | 30 | 9 |
| Master of Divinity | 72 | 36 |
| Doctor of Ministry | 30 | 6 |
| PhD in Psychology-Theology | 60 | 15 |
| PhD in Biblical Studies | 60 | 15 |
| Doctor of Theology | 60 | 15 |
The approved amount depends on your official academic record and how your coursework applies to your QCT degree. All approved transfer coursework, including eligible undergraduate general education courses, falls within the applicable limit.
Can I transfer everything and complete only a dissertation?
No. Students may not transfer all graduate coursework to complete only a dissertation or final project at QCT. You must complete the remaining required QCT coursework before entering the dissertation or capstone phase, as required by your program.
Dissertation credits themselves are not eligible for transfer.
Can I choose fewer credits than QCT approves?
No. By requesting an evaluation, you commit to paying for all approved credits up to your program’s maximum. You cannot decline some approved credits to reduce the charge.
QCT will disclose the per-credit rate and maximum potential charge before you submit the request. You are charged for the actual approved credits, not automatically for the maximum allowance.
