How do transfer credits affect my academic record and GPA?
Approved transfer credits apply to the degree requirements identified in your evaluation, and transferred grades affect your QCT cumulative GPA.
When will credits appear on my record?
Credits are posted only after full payment is received and the Registrar or an administrator approves posting. An evaluation or invoice alone does not place credits on your academic record.
How are letter and numerical grades treated?
Transferred letter or numerical grades are included in your QCT cumulative GPA using the College’s applicable grading scale.
How is a passing mark treated?
For accepted pass/fail coursework, a passing mark receives a 4.0 grade-point value, weighted by the number of credits transferred.
For example, an accepted 3-credit course with a passing mark contributes 12 quality points to the GPA calculation: 3 credits multiplied by 4.0. Your cumulative GPA also reflects the other grades and credits included in the calculation.
Will another school accept these credits later?
QCT’s acceptance does not guarantee acceptance elsewhere. Each receiving institution decides whether QCT credits or credits previously transferred into QCT meet its requirements.
If you plan to attend another institution, contact that institution directly about its transfer policy. QCT is not responsible for another institution’s decision.
