Non-Discrimination Policy
Learn how QCT ensures a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment.
Overview
Queens College of Theology (QCT) is committed to maintaining a positive, Christ-centered academic and work environment where all students, faculty, and staff are treated with dignity and respect.
In alignment with our mission and core values, we strictly prohibit discrimination, harassment, or retaliation of any kind.
Our non-discrimination policy reflects both our theological convictions and our responsibility to uphold legal and ethical standards within higher education.
The Policy
As stated in the Queens College of Theology Catalog:
“Queens College of Theology prohibits discrimination and harassment based on age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, ethnic origin, disability, predisposing genetic information, covered veteran status, and any other basis protected by law. Queens College of Theology also prohibits retaliation against an individual for making a good faith report under this policy.”
This policy applies to all members of the QCT community, including:
-
Current and prospective students
-
Faculty and adjunct instructors
-
Administrative and support staff
-
Volunteers and visiting scholars
Our Commitment
QCT’s non-discrimination policy is rooted in our belief that all people are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and deserve to be treated with fairness, compassion, and integrity.
We strive to create a learning environment where:
-
Every person feels welcomed and valued.
-
All members of the community can learn, teach, and serve without fear of prejudice or bias.
-
Differences in background, identity, or perspective are respected as part of the richness of God’s creation.
This commitment directly supports QCT’s broader Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, which emphasize belonging, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.
Reporting and Response
Any student, staff member, or faculty member who believes they have experienced discrimination or harassment should report it immediately to school administration.
QCT takes all reports seriously and ensures that:
-
Complaints are reviewed promptly and fairly.
-
Those involved have the right to respond and present evidence.
-
Confirmed violations of this policy result in appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination or dismissal.
The Chancellor may also convene a disciplinary panel to investigate claims when necessary, ensuring accountability and transparency in every process.
Why It Matters
Our commitment to non-discrimination reflects the Gospel itself — the good news that Christ calls all people to His Kingdom without partiality.
By fostering a culture of fairness, inclusion, and respect, Queens College of Theology ensures that every student and faculty member can grow spiritually, academically, and personally in an environment that honors God and upholds human dignity.
